The Cristina Heeren Foundation will organize an Intensive Flamenco course in its facility in Triana, Seville, between July 1st and July 12th, 2019. Two weeks of comprehensive training in cante, baile and guitar in groups for various levels.

Between July 1st and July 12th, 2019, the Curso Flamenco Intensivo of the Fundación Cristina Heeren will take place in the headquarters of the flamenco school in Seville. Two weeks of comprehensive training in cante, baile and guitar in groups for various levels. Sixty hours of lessons in total, taught by prestigious teachers.

The Monday-to-Friday daily lessons include technical, practical and theorical training. Besides, there are various parallel activities for the students, such as a masterclass, workshops and a visit to Cádiz. Tickets for shows at the Teatro Flamenco Triana are included with enrollment. Capacity is limited and registrations can be made at the Foundation’s official website until May 31st, 2019.*

The format of this course is similar to its 2018 edition. The students of baile flamenco will learn body technique, footwork technique, accessories technique (with mantón for the intermediate level), bata de cola choreography (for the advanced level) and freestyle choreography. In guitarra flamenca, the program includes the technical subjects of flamenco guitar, accompaniment for cante and accompaniment for baile.

In the course of cante flamenco, the subjects are vocal technique, styles and cante for baile accompaniment. Besides, other subjects common to all students are flamenco history and theory, introduction to tablao and compás flamenco. “This course is conceived as a synthesis of our Curso Flamenco Anual”, explains Pepa Sánchez, academic director of the school. “It’s designed not only to make the students appreciate the quality of our academic program, but to allow them to enjoy flamenco from an integrating, lucid experience”, Sánchez concludes.
