The initiative is organized by the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco and the Provincial Federation of Peñas Flamenco dancers from Almeria.

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, through the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco, and the Provincial Federations of Peñas Flamencas, organizes the Andalusian Circuit of Peñas 2024, a project in which they put value on the peñas throughout the Andalusian territory. The distribution of actions for each province responds to objective criteria according to the number of peñas federated. In Andalusia, there are 321 peñas officially federated, and Almería has 16 peñas attached to their Provincial Federation. As for the selection of the programme, each provincial federation has been responsible for choosing the participating artists from a catalogue designed after a public call that includes 350 artists. The creation of this catalogue makes it possible for anyone interested in performing in the peñas could be presented on equal terms.
Thus, in the province of Almería 7 recitals will be held cante, 1 dance and 2 guitar and around 19 artists in 10 municipalities will participate. The program will begin in the Peña Flamenca El Arriero de Viator next Saturday, with the performance of the singer Chelo Soto. The following week, it will be the turn of Adra, specifically the Peña Flamenca The Tower, which welcomes the singer Rocío Segura.
The first weekend of October there will be two performances: at the Almería Cultural Association of Arts and Flamenco, at the Parador de las Hortichuelas, Fita Heredia will perform while at the Peña Flamenca El Ciego de la Playa de Huércal de Almería will do the same with Cristo Heredia. The Andalusian Circuit of Peñas has its starting point in the signing of collaboration agreements with each of the provincial federations, with the aim of promoting citizen access to culture and contributing to the dissemination of flamenco through cultural programs and activities.
