The online flamenco festival #FlamencoDeSofa (“Flamenco from the Sofa”), mentioned weeks ago in this website, starts on June 4th with the first online premiere of the festival, featuring David Pérez. This project, organized from Prague, Czech Republic, seeks to provide financial support for Spanish flamenco artists
The lineup includes the following performances:
NINO DE LOS REYES
The organizers, who also manage the Den flamenka / Día del flamenco Praga flamenco festival, aim to create a more intimate ambiance for all shows, like a theater performance, not simply uploading a video in a website. To achieve this goal, the event will feature a headliner / jingle and a program with artistic notes for each show. They will also send flowers (via Spanish companies) to the home of the main artist (to their surprise!)
Finally, there is a new idea. To make the festival more lively, beyond cyberspace, the organizers will get in touch with venues, bars, theaters and tablaos and encourage them to join the project by featuring the show in their screens to reach a wider public all over the world. «We know that the situation in many countries is still very serious. However, the restrictions caused by the pandemic have been eased in some regions, so we thought about adding this little detail to the festival», stated the organizers.
