La Department of Culture and Sports of the Andalusian Government, through the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions, has published in the Official Gazette of the Andalusian Government (BOJA number 67 of April 8, 2025) the call to submit proposals for programming festivals and events of special cultural interest of flamenco in Andalusia. This is a new line of collaboration with municipalities with fewer than 100,000 inhabitants that are not provincial capitals.
This call promotes the programming of flamenco in the cultural events that traditionally fill the agendas of Andalusian municipalities. The objective is to collaborate in the programming of these cultural events, which will be carried out jointly by the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco and the selected local entity.
Among the requirements contemplated in the call is the existence of an outstanding programming that has the flamenco starringIn addition, the municipality must have specialized managers directly linked to the event. Furthermore, the venues where the activity takes place must be publicly owned, either managed by the municipality itself or through a non-profit instrumental entity.
Applications may be submitted until May 12 through the General Electronic Filing Service of the Andalusian Regional Government Administration and the models are published on the website of the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco and the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions. Entities must attach a supporting report to their proposals detailing the event's program, dates, and location.
The project must also contain aa definition of the target audience, and must be completed with the communication plan that will be implemented for its proper promotion. It must also be accompanied by the activity manager's resume and a financial budget, which will also include a financial statement for the activity.
The evaluation of the applications will be carried out by a Valuation Commission, which will apply the following criteria: the programming proposal and relevance of the festival; its contribution to the creation of new spaces and environments for the exhibition of flamenco; the financing and economic sustainability of the event; and the project's consideration of gender equality.
The selected proposals will finalize their programming with the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco, which will contribute financially through artistic hiring, investing between 2500 and 6000 euros in each event.
