The dancer and choreographer Eva Yerbabuena has been recognized with the prestigious Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance (Outstanding Achievement in Dance) for her work on the show Yerbagüena (dark shiny)The award, granted by the Society of London Theatre, is the main recognition of theatre and dance in London's West End circuit and therefore one of the most prestigious awards in the performing arts in the United Kingdom.
The dancer and choreographer wanted to dedicate and thank this award to Flamenco Festival, “who does so much to spread our art outside our borders”; Sadler's Wells Theatre, “which respects, cares for, and protects every performance”; and the Society of London Theatre, “for this recognition, which I receive with great emotion.”
He also expressed his gratitude to the audience, "for the warmth, respect, and dedication with which they have accompanied us in every city," and to all the people who make the show possible: the artistic cast, the technical team, those who work in production, distribution, communications, and "each and every one of the people who support this project with professionalism and commitment."

This Olivier Award adds to a career marked by unanimous recognition from the cultural sector, both nationally and internationally. Yerbabuena, in addition to being an honorary member of the Academy of Performing Arts, has also been awarded ten Max Awards for the Performing Arts, being one of the most awarded artists in the history of these awards. She has also received the National Dance Award, the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts, the Medal of Andalusia, the Gold Medal of Granada, five Girladillo Awards (awarded by the Biennial of Flamenco of Seville), the APDE Award for Artistic Career and the Canal Sur Public Award, among many other recognitions.
Her work has transcended borders, also being distinguished internationally with the Time Out Award In the United Kingdom, the Prize of Georgian International Festival of Theater for Excellence in Arts, the Chilean Art Critics Circle award, as well as nominations for the British National Dance Awards.
