The headquarters of the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco It has been the setting for the presentation of the latest album by the singer from Huelva Rocio Belen, I will raise my voice. This is a project in which the young artist wants to pay tribute to women in the world of flamenco through nine cantes.
The singer wants to “pay tribute to that overcoming, struggle and sacrifice”, seeking a more powerful and inclusive future for all singers. “Flamenca is what I am and what I want to be”, she added, and from here, from her musical and personal references and inspirations, she has created an album that invites celebration, reflection and good music. All this, thanks to the collaboration of her producer Francis Gomez Cruzado.

Rocío Belén is a flamenco singer who combines the traditional essence with an avant-garde approach. Her artistic career began at the age of 10 in the fandango competitions of her land. The passion for this cante took him to take classes at the Amparo Correa Foundation, and there began his career, also forged in the Cristina Heeren Foundation with teachers of the stature of José de la Tomasa, Paco Taranto, Calixto Sánchez, Esperanza Fernández, Laura Vital, Virginia Gámez or Juan José Amador. His good work in the cante has led him to win more than 30 awards flamenco of the first level. It is worth highlighting the Young Prize of the National Competition of Cante Jondo Antonio Mairena, the first prize in the Competition of Cante by Taranta and Tarantos Cristina Heeren Foundation, Award for the best Malagueña by the Provincial Federation of Peñas Flamenco dancers from Malaga, winner of the National Saetas Competition “City of the Union”.
He also obtained the highest recognition and highest award in the Huelva fandango, winning the 1st Paco Toronjo Prize in the Villa de Alosno. In 2017 and 2018 he managed to reach the semi-finals of the International Festival of the Cante de las Minas and has been a finalist in the National Art Competition Flamenco of Córdoba (2019), two of the most prestigious competitions at the national level.
