On Friday, March 21, a new festival will be held in Puente Genil Exaltation of the Saeta Cuartelera organized by the Association of Brotherhoods of this town in Cordoba. This year it features the II Group of Our Lady of Solitude on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary. To this end, it has the participation of our collaborator Alvaro de la Fuente Mirror, who will offer a lecture entitled The barracks saeta in the context of the ancient Cordoban saeta. The following quarters will participate: The Old Pelican, The Sentence of Jesus, The Apostles, The Degüello and the First of Sorrows. Likewise, the saga of The Washing, a family with enormous flamenco and saetera roots whose patriarch was the remembered singer from Pontanés Peter Wash.

This is, without a doubt, a magnificent opportunity to discover this unique traditional musical form, a form of ancient saeta that, if it differs from its counterparts in any way, is its enormous vitality, dialogue-driven character, and a musical quality enriched by the flamenco tradition of Puente Genil.
