Lela Soto, one of the most promising voices of the flamenco current, finally releases his first album, The fire that I carry inside, a work in which she takes up the baton of her family lineage and turns it into her own proposal, full of nuances and authenticity. Accompanied by some of the best guitarists on the national scene, such as Diego del Morao, Josemi Carmona, Rycardo Moreno and Jose del Tomate, Lela builds an album in which the purest tradition coexists with a renewing vision of flamenco.
The fire that I carry inside It is more than an album: it is a declaration of principles, a testimony of love for flamenco and her roots. Through soleás, bulerías, tangos and seguiriyas, the artist expresses her feelings, with lyrics that draw on tradition but also reflect her personal vision. “This album is a tribute to my family, to the heritage that I carry within me and that has given me the voice and the rhythm. But it is also an album in which I want to show who I am, my way of feeling the flamenco today," explains the singer.
Lela takes over from her extended family, one of the most important in the history of art. flamenco, and imbues it with his very personal musical imprint, keeping the flame of flamenco in that constant evolution that art needs jondo to stay alive. Within the repertoire, the women of his family take on special importance, who despite not having been professionals have remained in the history of the flamenco as cult artists on the same level as the greatest figures in this art.
The album, produced with the support of Altafonte, features previously unreleased compositions by Jose Soto Sorderita, his uncle and one of the key figures in the evolution of flamenco, as well as contributions from his cousin Manuela and other members of his family.
Over the past few months, Lela Soto has been revealing her debut with previews that have received a great reception from the public and critics:
- From praying so much to the saint, a vibrant tango that became the first preview of the album, already hinted at the freshness with which the singer approaches her proposal.
- It was so nice, a bulería that explores the emotional ups and downs of love and that surprised with its expressive power.
- Inaccessible, an unreleased soleá composed by José Soto "Sorderita" and accompanied on guitar by Diego del Morao, which has become one of the most special songs on the album.
