Twenty years have passed since BBK started its commitment to the flamenco. Two decades in which the public has responded and the programming has taken on different formats and passed through different venues. To commemorate these twenty years, the program prepared for 2025 has just been presented, which will take place in the bbk room and who has been baptized as XX Flamenco BBK (because of the anniversary, not because it is a 20th edition). From now on, the cycle Flamenco BBK will be a regular event in the space of the Gran Vía of Bilbao which will take place every two years (in odd-numbered years). The 2025 lineup includes five dates between April and June featuring prominent names (such as flamenco singer Israel Fernández or the guitarists Antonio 'El Relojero' and Chicuelo) with young promises "with a promising present and future", in the words of the organization, such as Salomé Ramírez, Aitana Rousseau or Ángel Reyes.
XX Flamenco BBK will open on April 30 with a meeting precisely titled 20 years Flamenco BBK, in which the director of the contest, Gonzalo Lopez, will take a tour of the main milestones of these two decades and will present this new edition, alternating guest performances (the singer Ezekiel Benitez and the guitarist Paco León) with numbers of local dancers directed for the occasion by María MartínThis first event will be free, although you must pick up an invitation at the box office or on the Sala BBK website. The young but established singer-songwriter's recital will take place on May 16th. Israel Fernandez (Corral de Almaguer, Toledo, 1989). He will present his most recent album, For the love of cante, created with veteran guitarist Antonio 'The Watchmaker' as a tribute to the peñaflamenco artists after a joint tour of these popular venues for fans. Fernández will be accompanied live by the flamenco guitarist himself.

For May 30 the premiere of the new own production of Flamenco BBK. It will be the third in these two decades of flamenco and it is expected that, after its debut at the Sala BBK in Bilbao, it will be able to tour as has happened to its predecessors (new sap y Step by step). On this occasion, under the title From tablao three emerging dancers will be reunited: Salome Ramirez (who stood out in his participation in the show Choral guitar, by Yerai Cortés), Angel Reyes (part of the cast of Manuel Liñán's latest production, Dead in love) and Aitana Rousseau (a Sevillian with a Parisian father who in recent years has toured stages all over the world with the Spanish National Ballet). The three of them will recreate the atmosphere of the traditional tablao accompanied by the guitar of The Movie and the cante de Ismael de la Rosa 'The Ball' y John of the Maria.
El 6 June It will be the turn of Vertebrate, the first show by the Cádiz-born dancer Juan Thomas de la Molia, in which he bets on a palo Specifically: the bulería. This piece, with artistic direction by Manuel Liñán, earned De la Molía the Breakthrough Artist Award at the 2024 Jerez Festival. The series will close on 20 June again with dance, with Three piecesIn this production the dancers come together José Maldonado (Barcelona, 1985), recognized for mixing flamenco and plastic arts, and Karen Lugo (Jalisco, Mexico, 1988), an artist who combines tradition and avant-garde. On guitar live, they will be accompanied by the veteran Juan Gomez 'Chick', considered one of the most prolific and interesting composers of the genre today.
