It's been a little over two years since Pedro Montoya Junquera The Chanquita I was awakened by the ear in the Peña Flamenca Torres Macarena from Seville with the hope of a new canonical singer in the lands of Albariza. And today he stands as a promise fulfilled, because not only are better times predicted for him, but he is clearly the future and present of cante. He has demonstrated this by delivering a recital with style in the Luis de la Pica Flamenco Cultural Association, which was packed with people within the programming of the Jerez Festival.
A las palmas laid the foundation AngelPeña and squandered the rhythm and the age Castro John, full of rhythm and tremendous in the hustle and bustle. cante The Jerez native asked for more guitar than he gave Rubén Martínez, which was correct. But they came out of the task more than unscathed.
He uncovered his performance in tientos and I already glimpsed his restless maturity. When changing to tangos he remembered Pastora. And he rocked the thirds with aplomb from the moment he opened his mouth. Then he did creak the struts by Taranto and he fought well in Cartagena paying tribute to Moraíto Chico:
In the Santiago neighborhood
the guitar no longer sounds
and the same pain is saddened
for your touch and your person,
the best of all of Spain
«Without imitations or imitations. Because he takes turns and sounds like no one. He doesn't get lost in flourishes and gets straight to the point. His voice is powerful and clear. And his singing skills are based on less is more. He has substance, there is skill.»

He sang with a strong, fat voice, curling up in his throat quintals of depth and knowledge. And despite his insulting youth, his fondness is evident because he takes things from here and there from the figures of his land, as he did when he looked at himself in The Cake. But without imitations or mimics. Because he takes turns and sounds like no one. He doesn't get lost in flourishes and gets straight to the point. His voice is powerful and clear. And his singing skills are based on less is more. There's substance, there's a way.
He sprinkled the salt of Cadiz for joy, cutting the times to his measure and with plenty of rhythm. He did that of smuggler and ended up rolling around in a sugar candy cape. The bulería to listen to was clearly Jerez, with aftertaste and palate. And he stuck pins into the seguiriya, fastening it with the special days of Santiago and Santa Ana squeezing his ribs, giving it his all. To seal the afternoon he raised the short and not so short bulería with a really good sound. And Juan called the girls, who were barely a meter off the ground but who already ensure the legacy to the palmas and the dance, leaving on the wood of El Pica the innocent and flirtatious grace of those who play with the flamenco and they have a great time. Ole, joé!
