The legacy of the great Pencho Cros and the wealth of the canteThe mining industry of Levante is the protagonist of a special conference that is being held in the auditorium of the La Union Mining Museum Friday, March 14 at 20:15 p.m.
The event will feature a presentation by Jose Francisco Ortega Castejon, professor at the University of Murcia and researcher flamenco, who will delve into the figure of Pencho Cros, one of the most emblematic voices of flamenco miner and undisputed reference of the genre.
After the conference, the public will be able to enjoy a recital flamenco in charge of Ricardo Fernandez del Moral, winner of the prestigious Minera Lamp in 2012. His cante and touch will offer a tribute to the essence and depth of the flamenco Traditional.
The event, organized with the support of the City Council of La Unión and the Fundación Cante of the Mines, is part of the commemorative activities of the centenary of the birth of Pencho Cros (1925-2025), reinforcing his legacy and the importance of the cantes mining-levantines in the history of flamenco.
