As the synopsis of the show warns, 'once upon a time, not long ago, at the beginning of the 20th century and in a prudish Spain ready to be scandalized, a group of women went on stage, covered in jewels, hats and feathers, to defend a genre considered inferior'.
The play 'El penúltimo cuplé', led by the dancer Luisa Palicio, aims to shed light and some justice on this episode. It will be performed on March 3, during the 29th Festival de Jerez. Together with her fellow performers, she gets into the skin of five of these artists who meet one night, the last, to delight their audience with their greatest hits. For the conceptual development, Luisa Palicio has counted on Pepa Caballero and some excellent castmates such as Coral Moreno, Ana Oropesa, Inma La Carbonera and Ángeles Rusó. In this online interview, she tells us all the details of the staging.
