Cayetano Fernández, as our guest responds, is a classic of the flamenco Jerez native. Together with other contemporaries he was part of a golden generation of art jondo from their land. Practically the one who participated, then as prolix cantera, in that album New Frontier of Cante from Jerez in 1973 from the RCA and sponsored by the peña The Kestrels.
After an intense artistic career, which has mostly been spent in Seville, he has received a late but fair recognition where he first saw his light. La Guarida del Ángel, with Mario González at the helm, has decided to dedicate the Off Jerez Festival de Jerez 2025 to him. We take advantage, as is logical, to talk to Nano de Jerez about one and a thousand stories that he treasures after so many years of notable professional and the endearing memory of his father Tío Juane.
