Expoflamenco.com received recognition from the Escuela de Flamenco de Andalucía for the best flamenco media at a gala held in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz). The awards went to Mayte Martín, Javier Latorre, Paco Cepero, Dorantes, Ortiz Nuevo and the Peña La Platería.

The global flamenco website Expoflamenco.com received the ‘Manolo Sanlúcar’ International Flamenco Award for the best flamenco media. These awards, which have been given for the last seven years by the Escuela de Flamenco de Andalucía – EFA, were presented at a gala on 16 November – International Flamenco Day – at the Palacio de los Duques de Medina Sidonia, Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz), in collaboration with the Sanlúcar de Barrameda Town Council and the Council of Cádiz. The awards went to to Mayte Martín (vocals), Paco Cepero (guitar), Javier Latorre (dance), Dorantes (instrumentalist), José Luis Ortiz Nuevo (research), Expoflamenco (media), and the Peña La Platería (flamenco club).

Here are two videos of the awards ceremony from the VII ‘Manolo Sanlúcar International Flamenco Awards’. The first one reflects almost the entire event, including the emotional words of Expoflamenco’s owners, Mitch and Jafelin Helten, as well as the other award winners, and a performance by the talented guitarist José Fermín Fernández from Granada. The second video shows some brief words of thanks and heartfelt reflections from some of the Expoflamenco team members – Manuel Bohórquez, Juan Garrido and Estela Zatania, as well as the aforementioned Jafelín and Mitch – on the road travelled by this great adventure of flamenco art on the Internet.

Expoflamenco is very grateful for this recognition from the world of flamenco and accepts it with joy and passion to continue working to spread flamenco around the world.
