The ExpoFlamenco Academy is born

The grand opening of the ExpoFlamenco Academy will take place in Jerez on Friday, October 20th, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Our venue, Espacio Expoflamenco, will host regular flamenco lessons by Margarita Flores Toscano (baile), Carlos Pérez (guitar), Aroa Cala (cante), Manuel Heredia (guitar) and Ángel Sánchez 'El Cepillo' (percussion).


Committed to our vocation of filling our daily activities with content in the service of the global flamenco community, we are starting a new educational resource in our Jerez venue. The ExpoFlamenco Academy will fill our program of practical flamenco lessons with a group of young, highly qualified and highly capable instructors. The program will be continuously updated with both online and in-person sessions.

 

The grand opening of the ExpoFlamenco Academy will take place in our venue in Jerez on Friday, October 20th, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This special occasion will feature a free lesson of flamenco dance, although attendance must be confirmed by calling (+34) 637-651-042, as there is limited space. The first lesson of the Nivel básico de Bulerías de Jerez dance course will be given by Margarita Flores Toscano, a flamenco teacher with professional degrees in Dance specialized in Flamenco in the Professional Conservatory and Dance Higher Arts Teaching, specialized in Teaching the Flamenco Style. Enrollment is open for every Friday at the time indicated above.

Very soon the following instructors will begin their regular lessons, which we’ll communicate accordingly:

 

  • Carlos Pérez (guitar): expression, interpretation and composition using the Spanish guitar, covering the following aspects: sound, self-awareness, rhythm, consciousness and presence in the interpretation; connecting with creativity, bridges between the resources of the Spanish guitar and the Flamenco guitar, technical resources to expand the expressiveness of the guitar, interpretative resources and resources for composition.

 

  • Aroa Cala (cantaora): Teaching activities for schoolchildren focusing on the knowledge of cante and general flamenco culture.

 

  • Manuel Heredia (guitar): Different techniques for the Flamenco Guitar. Falsetas and repertoire. Introduction to accompaniment for Cante and Baile

 

  • Ángel Sánchez ‘El Cepillo’ (percussion): An eminence in the world of compás relating to palmas and cajón, Angel has extensive experience with the great flamenco masters and vast participation in their discography.

 

 

Besides the addition of instructors who will regularly teach in our weekly schedule, we will also offer occasional master classes taught by artists of great renown.
