40th anniversary of the ‘Festival Flamenco de La Vendimia de Manilva’

The Peña Cultural Flamenca de Manilva –in Málaga– is organizing the 40th edition of the prestigious ‘Festival Flamenco de La Vendimia’, in collaboration with the City Council. The local cantaor Andrés Lozano will be honored

In the year 1979, the Festival Flamenco de La Vendimia was born in Manilva, thanks to the efforts of the Peña Cultural Flamenca and the City Council of that city in Málaga. This year is the 40th anniversary of one of the most important flamenco festivals in the province, and it celebrates by honoring the cantaor from Manilva Andrés Lozano, who was also president of the Peña Cultural. This festival will take place on Friday, August 30th, in Manilva’s Colegio Pablo Picasso.

The singer, composer and cantaora Mayte Martín is the headliner of this event. She will be accompanied by Alejandro Hurtado in the guitar. Besides, the festival will also feature renowned artists such as Alfredo Tejada, Guillermo Cano and Laura Vital, joined by the guitars of Patrocinio Hijo, Juani Marín and Eduardo Rebollar. Moisés Navarro‘s Cuadro Flamenco will be the icing on the cake, ensuring that baile is well-represented in this event.

All aficionados willing to attend and enjoy this festival will be able to purchase their ticket for twenty euros. The City Council has specified point-of-sale locations to be established at  Delegación de Cultura (CIVIMA), Edificio de Usos Múltiples in Sabinillas, Oficina de Turismo del Pto. De la Duquesa, Musisol in Estepona, Estanco Reyes in Casares and Salvi Supercién in Sabinillas.

On the other hand, the members of the Peña Cultural Flamenca de Manilva have guaranteed free admission to the festival. Showing their membership card will grant them access to the venue.
